I made this cane when I was at my Mom's house. I don't have my tools with me and this was taken using my old camera. I hope you can follow the steps. It is a simple cane and you can use any color combination you like. Enjoy!
Simple Hollow Bead Project: A meteorite
Take a small round styrofoam and aluminum foil. |
Cover the entire styrofoam with the aluminum foil. This will be the ball. | | |
Condition a piece of clay, depending on how big or small is your ball. Flattened it out using your roller or a pasta machine at a thickest setting. |
Cover your ball with your flattened clay. Roll your clay between your palms to make a round smooth ball. Use a firm straw and punch it against the clay to make holes. Clean your straw after each punch, that way it would be easy to remove excess clay from the holes you made. |
The ball should looked like this. I like my ball to be not so perfect as this gives a character. |
Dab some pearlex or mica powder on the ball clay. |
You can add some glitter powder into it. |
You now have something like this. Bake your clay according to manufacturers' baking instruction guide located at the bottom of the clay package. But not to bake it more than 130 degrees centigrade. Once cooled, take a small clamping tool or pointed object, small enough to fit into the hole. Punch the aluminum foil with that and fish them out of your ball. If the aluminum foil sticks to the clay, just scrape it off gently. Your styrofoam should have melted or reduced in size. |
Once all the aluminum foil are removed you can now string your hollow bead according to your preference. |
